Planning

Mid Sussex District Council is the Planning Authority for the Horsted Keynes area and as such its Planning Officers / Committees consider all planning applications that are submitted in our parish. In view of this, MSDC has recently issued a Planning Policy update presentation for information which can be viewed by clicking on the link.

MSDC also provides an excellent online planning register which allows anyone to view details of  planning and licensing applications, consequently, the Parish Council only provides links for those planning applications which relate to public buildings or the building of 6 or more new dwellings within the parish. (See below)

To view all other planning applications, please access the MSDC Online Planning Register (just click on the MSDC logo above) where you will be able to:

• Monitor the current status of an application;
• View documents for current applications;
• View lists of applications submitted and decided each week or month;
• Be notified by email of new applications in our ward or parish;
• See whether an appeal has been lodged and the result;
• Submit comments to the Council about applications.

The Planning register is easy to search – either by house name/ house number & road or by using the online map showing all applications for this area.

As a Consultee, Horsted Keynes Parish Council is invited by Mid Sussex District Council to comment on planning applications within the parish (in the same way that any individual may comment on an application) and all submissions made by the Parish Council are published on the MSDC online register.

If you submit comments/representations to MSDC on any planning application, please be aware that your name and address will be made public through the Online Planning Register and confidential or anonymous representations cannot be taken into account.
